Wimbledon – week 1

So obviously it didn’t quite work out the way I’d hoped. Poor Nadal having to pull out. Such a shame that he didn’t have the chance to defend his title. I just hope he can fully recover from this, his knees have taken a lot of abuse due to his style of playing. Also, hard court season is up next, which is even harsher on knees.

Fingers crossed though, I’m sure he’ll be back and better than ever soon enough!

I had a couple of favourite’s at the start of the week: Del Potro, Roddick, Federer and I suppose I have to include Murray. Del Potro is out, Leyton Hewitt was on amazing form in his match with him and deserved to go through to the next round. Roddick hasn’t exactly been dominating in the first week but I would say he played solidly. His last match was a bit of a test, with two tie-breakers, but he came through in four sets, so that’s really not bad. I hope he at least makes it to the semi’s. Roger Federer is playing brilliantly, it’s really going to be hard to stop him when he’s playing this well. I also love his new Wimbledon outfit- he’s so stylish! Murray has been playing some good tennis too. I have a feeling it will be Murray Federer in the final, and that Federer will win, but a lot can happen in a week, so we shall see!

Back to packing!
